Francesco Saverio Poliseno, after a long and distinguished career in Generali – leading Marine Insurance Company – in 1984 decided to start up his own business as insurance broker founding UNIASS which, after few years, was renamed POLIASS.
From the beginning POLIASS offered an insurance consulting service highly skilled with the aim to reduce technical and information asymmetries between Insurance Companies and their Clients/Assured.
The joint venture signed in 1998 with Willis – world leader in wholesaler brokerage – gave POLIASS the opportunity to enhance its international network of relationships and to be accredited by the main British and continental insurance companies.
After more than 30 years of activity, POLIASS is now one of the leading companies in the Italian insurance broking scenario thanks to its strong relationships, both for Marine and Property, with top Clients represented by some of the most important Shipping Companies and Shipyard as well as Large Industrial and Commercial Groups.
In 2017 POLIASS signed a strategic partnership agreement with GBSAPRI Group born from the merger of two historic Italian insurance brokerage firms: SAPRI Broker Srl, established in 1951, specialized in Corporate and Affinity, and General Broker Service SpA, established in 1991, Italian leader in the Public Administration sector.
GBSAPRI is nowadays one of the most important Italian insurance brokerage companies counting on more than 100 professionals with branches all over Italy.
Francesco Saverio Poliseno
After working for over 20 years in Assicurazioni Generali, in 1984 he started its own business founding POLIASS. He held the presidency of the company until 2018
POLIASS Board of Directors reflects the company structure and is composed by professionals who – each one in their own field of competence – bring added value to the Company.
After several years of experiences in various Italian Marine Insurance Companies and at Lloyd’s of London, he joined the company in 2001. Today he is the President and CEO of the company heading the Marine Division.
Graduated in Business Administration at Bocconi University of Milan, after a work experience in General Electric participating to its well-known Financial Management Program, in 2011 he joined the family business in which he currently holds the role of CEO.
Chartered accountant and certified auditor. After 7 years of work experiences in PwC (senior auditor) and Coca-Cola HBC (Corporate Internal Audit Manager), since 2007 he is partner of Studio Coccia & Associati. After 12 years of consulting services provided to Poliass, he becomes member of the Board of Directors.
Working for approximately 30 years at Generali as Head of the Corporate Area, since 2014, he covered the role of Managing Director for strategies in the General Broker Service Group before and later in GBSAPRI.
C.E.O. at SAPRI Broker, where he worked for several decades, he has been confirmed in GBSAPRI with the authority for the Group’s Operational Activities.
She gained a decade of experience at Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer as a lawyer expert in insurance, banking and finance law in Rome, Milan and London. In GBSAPRI, since its establishment, she holds the role of General Counsel.
After a work experience with a renowned accounting firm in Rome, he arrived at the end of the 80s in the brokerage sector, up to become CFO of General Broker Service and President of General Broker International, operating in reinsurance and international risks. Today he confirms both positions for the GBSAPRI Group.
